PlonHub Docs

Uploading and publishing videos

How to add a video, describe it, and follow publication status.

Who can upload

Uploading videos requires a signed-in account with a confirmed email address.

Preparing a video

Before upload, prepare:

  • the video file,
  • title,
  • description,
  • category,
  • video language,
  • license and visibility.

Descriptions can use basic Markdown: lists, links, and emphasis. HTML is not allowed.

If a video description starts a line with a timecode, for example 1:17 intro, PlonHub shows it as a link. Clicking it moves the player to that moment in the video. Supported formats are m:ss and h:mm:ss.

Upload

PlonHub creates a video object in Bunny Stream, then the browser uploads directly to the video infrastructure. After upload, the video enters processing.

Supported file extensions are .mp4, .mov, .m4v, .mkv, and .webm. If a mobile browser does not provide the file MIME type, PlonHub recognizes the video by a supported extension.

Visibility

A public video can appear in the feed, profile, and categories. An unlisted video works by direct link but does not appear in public lists.

Statuses

  • Upload: the file is being sent.
  • Processing: the video is moving through transcoding.
  • Public: the video is ready to watch.
  • Changes requested: the elders asked for edits before further publication.

If something fails

If upload is interrupted, try again on a stable connection. If a video is stuck in processing, check its status later in Studio.
